Pray
The PALM team serves in some of the world’s most spiritually hungry yet spiritually hostile regions. Their work touches believers who face persecution, isolation, trauma, and deep questions as they follow Christ.
As Scripture reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). We depend on God’s strength, not our own, and deeply value your prayers.
1. Pray for believers and leaders serving under persecution
Across Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Mauritania, Yemen, Sudan and beyond, believers from Muslim backgrounds face intense pressure—church closures, imprisonment, social isolation, family opposition, and legal risks. PALM trainers and local facilitators also face visa barriers, surveillance, and travel restrictions that hinder gatherings and trainings.
Pray for protection, endurance, spiritual resilience, and open doors for safe discipleship and fellowship.
2. Pray for deep roots in Christ through true discipleship
Across North Africa and the Middle East, many new believers have little access to mature Christians, teaching, or safe fellowship. Without deep grounding in Scripture and daily obedience, their faith can be vulnerable to pressure, confusion, or fear. PALM’s work exists so that new disciples do not remain shallow soil, but become resilient followers of Jesus who endure and bear fruit.
Pray that their hearts would be like the “good soil… those who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop” (Luke 8:15).
3. Pray for victory in the midst of intense spiritual warfare
Across North Africa and the Middle East, many who come to Christ from a Muslim background face intense spiritual opposition—fear, discouragement, isolation, nightmares, spiritual darkness, and the Enemy’s attempts to pull them back into old patterns.
Pray that new believers would experience the Lord’s strength, courage, and victory, remembering that “the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
4. Pray for effective training—both literate and oral—and for expansion into new languages
Most unreached peoples in the region are oral-preference learners, and many believers are illiterate. PALM’s orality training is one of its fastest-growing ministries, opening Scripture to those who cannot learn through books. At the same time, the Progressing Together curriculum (Levels 1 & 2) must be translated into more languages to serve new communities.
Pray for wisdom, creativity, stamina for trainers, and for smooth progress in translation efforts (Kabyle, Chaoui, Tachelhit, Hausa, Pulaar, Chadian Arabic, etc.).
5. Pray for wisdom, discernment, and unity for the PALM team and local trainers
As PALM expands into new countries, languages, and digital formats, the team must navigate security risks, complex cultural dynamics, and sensitive pastoral situations. Local facilitators—many of whom are young believers or BMBs under pressure—carry significant responsibility as they disciple others, mediate conflict, teach Scripture, and guide emerging fellowships.
Pray for spiritual clarity, humility, and Christlike discernment for every trainer and coordinator, that their decisions would be shaped by the Spirit and aligned with God’s timing and purposes.
